School Experience Programme (SEP)

This is being updated for 2017

Kick off day – 9th June 2016 – Harrogate.

A programme to support those interested in training to teach at Primary and Early Years level.  This begins with Kick-off day where you will get to speak to people leading the teacher training, current SCITT trainees and headteachers who interview on the panel and hear about why you should get into teaching.  You will be able to see teaching in practice and you will be given support in your application and be taken through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to start clearance processes.  After clearance is through you will be able to arrange further experience days with a local partnership school

  • Gain 10 days or more experience in a primary school within the Teach Yorkshire Partnership
  • Kick Off Day 9th June Pannal Primary School
  • Meet SCITT Trainees and speak to them about the programme
  • Meet headteachers who work within the partnership schools
  • Get hints and tips on the application process
  • Get helpful advice from headteachers on the interview panel to help with your application
  • Complete DBS Check forms to allow you to start your experience in local primary schools
  • After your DBS check is complete (usually 15 working days for UK citizens) you will be given a local school to arrange convenient experience days across all primary key stages
